Powell Law has been awarded a fifth Equal Access to Justice Award by the Lackawanna Bar Association for its pro bono work representing needy clients.

Although individual lawyers have been recognized, Powell Law is the only firm ever to be given the award in Lackawanna County.
PA Bar Association Honors Powell Law for Representing Needy
June 20, 2003
The Pennsylvania Bar Association honored Powell Law with its annual Pro Bono Award during its annual awards breakfast at the Wyndham Hotel in Philadelphia. Attorney Mark J. Powell accepted the award on behalf of the firm.
Powell Law was the only law firm to receive the award in 2003, although individual attorneys throughout Pennsylvania were similarly honored. Each of the Powell firm's five attorneys – James J. Powell III, Mark J. Powell, Bruce S. Zero, Christopher T. Powell Jr. and Christopher Osborne – accepted pro bono referrals in 2002, making it possible for indigent members of the community to receive the representation they so desperately need.
Powell Law was also the first law firm ever to be recognized with the Equal Access to Justice Award presented by the Lackawanna Bar Association and Lackawanna Pro Bono, Inc.
