Founded in 1906 by Attorney James J. Powell Sr., Powell Law is the area's oldest personal injury firm. His sons, James J. Powell Jr. and Christopher T. Powell Sr., founded Powell & Powell with offices on Barrister's Row in Scranton, Pa. James Powell Jr.'s son, James III, and Christopher T. Powell Sr.'s two sons, Christopher T. Powell Jr. and Mark J. Powell, eventually joined the firm, which was renamed Powell Law.
