Workers may also suffer soft-tissue injuries, which generally involve the stretching or tearing of muscles, tendons, or ligaments. These injuries historically may not be immediately apparent after an accident, with pain and symptoms appearing after some period of time following the occurrence of the injury. Soft tissue injuries may not be externally visible, nor appear on x-rays or other imaging.
